Revgear Santa Monica – Women's BJJ Gi With Character
The Revgear Santa Monica is built for women who want quality and style on the mat. The jacket uses a dense 450 GSM jacquard weave, paired with hard-wearing 10 oz ripstop pants. Red contrast stitching, reinforced inner seams, a reinforced collar and an inner print make the Santa Monica a gi people notice in training.
The model takes its name from the Californian coastal city, and the design follows suit: modern, feminine, with no compromise on function. Black belt testers described it as one of the most comfortable gis they had ever worn.
The cut is a tailored women's fit: narrower shoulders, a defined waist, shorter sleeves and pants with extra room through the hips. Nothing bunches, nothing rides up – not when passing guard, not in the stand-up.
Santa Monica comes in three colours – white, blue and black – and in sizes F1 to F4. Suited to daily training, drilling and competition prep.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
How do I pick the right size, F1 to F4?
Start with height and use weight as a cross-check. If you sit between two sizes, take the larger one – the gi shrinks slightly and settles after washing. Women with fuller hips often size up for the pants, even when the jacket would fit in the smaller size.
How does a women's cut differ from a men's gi?
A women's cut has narrower shoulders, a defined waist, shorter sleeves and pants with more room through the hips and seat. A men's gi in a comparable size hangs loose on a female frame – your opponent gets more fabric to grip and you get less freedom to move.
What does 450 GSM mean, and is it right for daily training?
The number is the weight of the jacket fabric per square metre. 450 GSM is the balanced middle ground – dense enough to survive daily wear and constant gripping, light enough that it doesn't drag you down in a hot gym. It's the most common choice for both training and competition.
How should I wash it to avoid shrinkage?
Wash at 30 °C, inside out, without fabric softener or bleach. Never tumble dry – that's what shrinks cotton the most. Hang it to dry in the shade. Follow this and both size and colour stay stable for the life of the gi.
Can I compete in it?
White, blue and black are the colours IBJJF competition rules allow for gis. Always check the organiser's current regulations before a specific tournament – particularly the requirements on sleeve and pant length and on patch placement.
